Reverend Laurel Hallman

The Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman retired from active ministry in 2009 after serving as Senior Minister of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, TX for 22 years. That same year she married Larry Ladd, moved to Falmouth, MA and joined our Fellowship where he was a member. In 2012 she and Larry bought a condo in downtown Boston, and left Falmouth to be closer to Larry’s work.

Since her retirement she has co-authored with the Reverend Burton Carley, a curriculum used by UU Ministers’ Chapters across the country called “Whose are We?” which asked questions of Call and Covenant. She and Rev. Carley also co-edited a Skinner House book, Not for Ourselves Alone: Theological Essays on Relationship. Since 2013 she has been the Chair of “Pointing the Way” a capital campaign for Meadville Lombard Theological School, in Chicago, Illinois. She has also published a book of sermons, Reaching Deeper.

Rev. Hallman is our full-time Interim Minister until June, 2017. We are delighted to welcome her to our pulpit and back to our Fellowship in this new role.
