Fred Johnson directs the choir
Music is an integral part of our Sunday service.
Many members say the choir is our best small group ministry!
With more than 20 members and Fred Johnson as our wonderful Choir Director, the choir rehearses and performs at Sunday Services most weeks from September through June. The Service, which always includes hymns and an anthem, may also include rounds sung by the congregation. The music is chosen to complement the theme of the service. It varies in style from classical to folk, with spirituals and songs of many nations and religious traditions represented.
Instrumental music is an important part of every service. Our pianist, Nancy Wendlandt, plays a prelude and a solo during meditation and accompanies the choir and congregation. Not infrequently, we’ll have a violist, a cellist, a flautist or a duo or trio for the service’s musical centerpiece, especially in the summer.
We welcome singers of all faiths from the greater Falmouth community to sing in the choir. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7 to 9 pm. All that is required is the love of music! Singers do not need to be experienced at choral singing or have the ability to sight read music. Speak to Fred Johnson or a choir member to learn more.
If you love to sing please join us!
