Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth
840 Sandwich Road Religious EducationMission StatementOur program provides a liberal education which explores diverse religious beliefs, instills social and personal responsibility, encourages respect and reverence for all life, and creates a basis for life-long religious growth and learning. We value our children as part of a loving community, through worship, ritual, and celebration, in an environment where children feel safe, respected, and accepted. We offer the tools for a journey toward discovery of personal, meaningful religious beliefs and values. Current NewsSunday School News Little Red School House today and through the summer. This is a supervised activity that meets weekly for ages 4-9. Youth Group News The youth group meets from 5:00 to 7:00 every Sunday. The Youth Group is looking for couple people in the congregation who would be willing to speak briefly during the June 27th Youth Sunday Service. The youth service will focus on the Principles of UUism and how those principles resonate in the life of our youth. The selected individuals will be invited to share their journey in search of their beliefs (their experience as a UU...and especially anything as a UU teen). A Message from the Director of Religious Education, Lisa Willow DunneWelcome to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth Religious Education Program. The children and youth of this church are valued. We try to weave them into the fabric of the congregation here at UUFF in many ways. The first Sunday of every month, our children start their Sunday morning in the sanctuary for worship with our entire congregation for the first ten minutes or so. The last Sunday of the month is Children's Chapel. Children gather in the East Wing for their own worship time including an age appropriate sermon and other related rituals and celebrations. We center our educational programs on the pillar or subject areas that we feel that are essential to Unitarian Universalism. Each year, we explore one of the pillars. They are:

Like other youth preparing for Confirmation or Bar Mitzvahs, teens will be asked to complete certain requirements to show the progress of their knowledge and spiritual development. High school age youth are invited to participate in this yearlong program. Helping HandsHow can you help? We welcome your assistance in the classroom, helping with clean-up after a lesson, planning a party, organizing supply closets, providing child care, reviewing curricula, doing a craft project on Sunday mornings during the summer months, working with the youth group, donating supplies, becoming a mentor….the list goes on and on! Health PolicyBringing an ill child to Sunday school may not only add to your child’s discomfort but also may threaten the health of others. We are dedicated to keeping everyone as healthy as possible. Please keep your child home if she/he has a fever, diarrhea, croupy or severe cough, conjunctivitis, an unusual rash, sore throat, is vomiting, or has severe itching of the scalp or a profuse discharge from the nose. Abuse Prevention PolicyThe UUFF has adopted an Abuse Prevention Policy and a Code of Ethics in Working with Youth and Children. It is available upon request from the Director of Religious Education. UUFF Religious Education Calendar for Children and Youth 2009 - 2010Our Religious Education Program begins at 9:30 a.m. On the first Sunday of every month, the children attend the first ten minutes of the service with their families, they then proceed back to their classrooms for RE until 10:30 when the service ends. On the last Sunday of every month, the children will begin RE with a child-centered Children&39;s Chapel in the East Wing (we&39;ll have signs to remind you!). Our youth group meets every Sunday at 5:00. We encourage active and regular participation in our RE program! There is no fee for participating. Families are expected to support the program financially through their pledges to the church, volunteering in the classroom and participating in RE sponsored events. We rarely cancel Sunday school due to inclement weather. UUFF has a phone tree to inform everyone when there is a cancellation. This is just one of the many reasons to have your child registered. Childcare for ages infant through 9 is available throughout the summer and during RE vacations.
