A Larger Humanism (Listen here)

A key part of our common heritage as a community is Humanism, a philosophy which (according to the American Humanist Association) “is a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism and other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.”

In this service we’ll seek to center the voices of Black Humanists, and the ways they are challenging Humanism, and all of us, to embrace a larger and deeper human-centered vision. This service is being held in solidarity with hundreds of UU communities who are devoting services on this day to the dismantling of white supremacy in ourselves, our institutions, and our larger world.
