Join us for an inspiring evening as photographer and Cape Cod Arts Foundation’s “Artist of the Year,” Julia Cumes, presents her project, Transformation: A Collaborative Portrait Series Exploring Gender Identity on Cape Cod, at its official gallery opening reception.

The reception will be held at the Meeting House of the  Unitarian Fellowship of Falmouth at 840 Sandwich Road from 6:00-7:00p.m. It will be followed immediately by Ms Cumes talking about her work. This powerful collection of portraits and captions delves into the unique journeys of its subjects, challenging viewers to confront the expressive power and diversity of human gender identity.

 

 

After the reception, Julia will give a talk and slideshow presentation that goes beyond the current exhibit, featuring some of her favorite projects from around the world that focus on women’s struggles, stories from the frontlines of climate change, wildlife conservation and more. This is a unique opportunity to engage with her work and explore the compelling stories behind the images. These works will be on display at the Meeting House through the end of October. One example of this exhibit is shown at right.
