All are invited to an informative and tasty event at the Meeting House on Wednesday, June 20th.   We will celebrate the culinary contributions of immigrants living in the US and learn about the challenges immigrants are facing today in Massachusetts and across the country. The evening will begin with appetizers, desserts and beverages from the recipes of international chefs in the U.S. Following the “recipes”, Laura Rotolo, a lawyer from the American Civil Liberties’ Union, will speak about “immigrant rights” and ACLU’s work with immigrant families in New England.

Some of the food served will be prepared according to recipes from The Immigrant Cookbook, Recipes that Make America Great, collected and edited by Leyla Moushabeck. Mary Fran Buckley from Eight Cousins bookstore will be selling the cookbook. A portion of the book sale proceeds will go to the ACLU Foundation. A suggested $10 donation is requested at the door. All proceeds will go to the ACLU Foundation to support their legal work on behalf of immigrants. Please email immigration.refugee.alliance@gmail.com to let us know you’re planning to come.

Sponsored by UUFF Immigration Refugee Alliance in cooperation with the Caring and Adult Ed committees of UUFF.
