Dr. Roger Kligler will be lecturing about medical aid in dying (MAiD), the ability of terminally ill, mentally capable adults to receive a prescription from their physician to self ingest to end their suffering. He is an Internist with extensive experience treating people at the end of life. He has incurable, metastatic prostate cancer.
MAiD is authorized in eight jurisdictions, representing almost 20% of the US population, but not yet in Massachusetts. Dr. Kligler will discuss his personal journey from physician to patient to advocate, and discuss 20 years of experience with MAiD in Oregon and how MAiD improves care for even those who choose not to use it.
