June 21 – 25, 2023 online or in-person in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
GA is an exciting opportunity to gather with thousands of UUs from around the country to participate in workshops, hear inspiring talks, and conduct the business of our association of congregations. GA will be held in person or virtually wherever you happen to be. You can find out information about its program and agenda here: https://www.uua.org/ga. UU Falmouth is entitled to four voting lay delegates. Anyone else from the congregation can participate in the programs. If you are interested in serving as a delegate, please contact Larry Ladd as chair of the Denominational Affairs Committee.
The General Assembly will also be electing a new president of the UUA for a six year term. The candidate for UUA president is Rev. Dr. Sofia Betancourt. You can learn about her here: https:// www.uua.org/uuagovernance/elections/2023-uua-presidential-candidate-sofia-betancourt. You can learn more about the election here: https://www.uua.org/uuagovernance/elections/2023- presidential-election.
Four in-person and online forums are being held around the country to hear Rev. Dr. Sofia Betancourt respond to questions about the future of Unitarian Universalism. The first has already been held but a recording is available at the website above. The next three will be held April 29, May 20, and June 3. You can register for these forums at the website above. You will learn a lot at these forums!
