Good Friday Tenebrae Service (Service Recording)

Listen Here

“Tenebrae,” from the Latin word for “darkness,” is a ritual of candles and darkness that marks the days leading up to Easter Sunday in parts of the Christian tradition. What might this ancient ritual, and the challenging images associated with Good Friday, have to say to Unitarian Universalists? Featuring a blend of Scripture, contemporary poetry, ritual, and meditation, along with a homily by Rev. David, this is a service for anyone–believer or nonbeliever, current Christian or recovering Christian, or anyone else–to engage these stories and find meaning in the holy darkness of these days.
