Middle and high school students meet to share social activities and take part in social justice and service work. The youth group is facilitated by the Director of Whole Life Learning and volunteers who are members of the congregation.
Coming of Age:
Coming of Age is our term to describe the transition from adolescence to adulthood. High school age youth are invited to participate in this yearlong program. Like other youth preparing for Confirmation or Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, teens will show the progress of their knowledge and spiritual development.
Our Whole Lives (OWL)
The guiding principle of the OWL program is that honest, accurate information prepares our children to become emotionally healthy, responsible adults and to make better decisions about their sexual behavior. OWL is an interactive, age-appropriate curricula that engages participants, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem and fosters healthy relationships. OWL strives to be unbiased and teaches about heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, and transgender sexual health. Here is a link to understand more about the program: UUA, Our Whole Lives.
UUFF Youth Enrichment Grant
We offer our Youth Group members the opportunity to apply for the UUFF YOUTH ENRICHMENT GRANT. This supports high school graduates as they undertake advanced learning or enrichment experiences at some point in the five-year period following their graduation from high school. Eligible recipients are high school graduates associated directly with UUFF themselves or through their families. To download the application click here: UUFF ENRICHMENT GRANT PROGRAM.
