SUNDAY SERVICE AT 10:00AM

Over the course of its three seasons, the popular TV comedy series Ted Lasso invited its viewers to reject the dominant cynicism of our times by offering a vision of what’s possible within communities when we show up meaningfully for one another.

The show’s premise—what happens when an American college football coach is recruited to lead a professional English football (soccer) club—conceals powerful spiritual lessons. This Sunday, we’ll explore how we might draw upon these spiritual insights to help UU congregations and other intentional communities take more risks, lean into vulnerability, and grow toward love.

Rev. Janet Newton currently serves the Unitarian Universalist Society of Martha’s Vineyard as their part-time minister. Theologically, Rev. Janet draws upon science and nature to inform and illuminate the spiritual landscape of our collective human experience.
