Since Waquoit Bay interacts with Nantucket Sound and the wider Ocean, it is impacted my multiple human stressors: warming waters; increased ocean acidity; eutrophication from “Nitrogen” enrichment; shifts in fin fish and shellfish species in space and time; reduction in the productive capacity of eelgrass beds, oyster reefs, salt marshes; etc.
